Pricing questions

How plans are sized, what's free, and how to get started.

How does Blocks pricing work?
Platform plans are billed annually and sized by active room blocks — the blocks you are currently managing, not your all-time history. Team covers up to 10 active blocks; Business has no limit. If you run one big event a year, single-event pricing starts at $1,950 and covers the full workflow for that event. Every plan starts with white-glove import of your current spreadsheets and an onboarding working session.
What counts as an active room block?
An active room block is one hotel's contracted inventory for one event, from the day you start tracking it until the event closes out. An event with four hotels is four active blocks while it is live; once the event is reconciled, those blocks no longer count against your plan. We size plans this way because it mirrors how the work actually scales — more hotels and more concurrent events mean more coordination, regardless of headcount.
Do you charge per attendee or per room-night?
No. Attendee counts and room-night totals move constantly — that volatility is exactly the problem Blocks manages, so we will never bill you on it. Your price is set by your plan and your active room blocks, and it does not change when your pickup does.
Does Blocks earn anything from our hotel bookings?
No. Blocks is paid by your team through a subscription or single-event price — never by hotels, and never as a percentage of what you spend. We don't take placement fees or hotel commissions, so we earn the same whether your rate is $180 or $220 and we have no stake in which hotel you pick. Any rebate or concession your team negotiates stays between your organization and the hotel; Blocks doesn't claim or process it.
Is there a free version of Blocks?
There is no free tier — Blocks is a system teams run their hotel operations on, and we onboard every team properly. Instead, we offer a free contract audit: send us one hotel contract and Blocks flags every deadline, attrition trap, and missing clause, quoting the exact contract language. We walk you through the results on a call, and the audit is yours to keep whether or not you buy. It is decision support, not legal advice.
Can we start with a single event?
Yes. Single-event pricing starts at $1,950 and covers the full workflow for one event — contract review, deadline tracking, per-night pickup, rooming lists, and the audit when the hotel returns its list. We scope it on a call based on the number of hotels and the shape of the block. Teams that like how the first event runs usually move to a platform plan for the next season.
How long does onboarding take?
Days, not months. Import your existing spreadsheets and upload your contracts — Blocks structures them automatically — and we do a working session with your team to set up your events, blocks, and playbook. Department leads and hotels work through private portal links, so there is nothing for them to install or learn.
